The $7 million hotel renovation Boerne-based Phoenix Hospitality Group & partners made to the DoubleTree San Antonio Downtown Hotel brings new life to the burgeoning neighborhood

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The DoubleTree by Hilton San Antonio Downtown Hotel substantially completed an estimated $7 million renovation on May 1, 2019. The renovation includes all guest rooms, public spaces, and mechanical systems such as elevators.

Co-owner & operator Ed McClure, who is also the founder & CEO of Phoenix Hospitality Group, stated that “This wonderful hotel that has been so successful for over 25 years deserved a full rejuvenation and modernization of its public areas and food and beverage operations.”

Mr. McClure opened the property as the Radisson Market Square Hotel back in 1991. McClure became a
partner in the 250-room hotel in 2010, when PHG successfully developed & managed the conversion to the
DoubleTree by Hilton San Antonio Downtown Hotel.

The revitalization of the hotel involves an entirely new look to all public spaces. Guests can enjoy WiFi throughout the property, a new front desk and suite shop, as well as a trendy food & beverage concept consisting of casual American dining with a tavern fare. Guests are encouraged to socialize in all public spaces including a game area as they enjoy craft beers & cocktails during the daily happy hours.

Meeting spaces also received a total upgrade with new features & facility modernizations, a private dining room for small meetings, & a brand new board room with state-of-the-art audio-visual capabilities for presentations. Finally, the renovated guestrooms provide patrons with the most welcoming & comfortable experience thanks to fresh design concepts & cozy furniture.

The DoubleTree San Antonio Downtown is located in the growing neighborhood next to the University of Texas at San Antonio Downtown Campus. “We are so excited to be a part of the evolution of this once blighted San Antonio neighborhood to its new-found modernization and vibrancy,” added Mr. McClure.
